The Grand Duke was born Robert Harold Stephens, on the 28th August 1985; to his parents Mr and Mrs P.I.Stephens. He was christened at St. Wilfred's Church on Mothering Sunday, 1989. His early childhood was spent mainly with his grandparents; as his parents had to fulfill their careers. Upon claiming independance of The Lagoan Isles, Robert was made Grand Duke Louis - a name given to him by close friends.

Education
The Grand Duke started pre-prep school at the age of four, in preparation for infant school. Aged only four and a half His Royal Highness enrolled at College Highlands infant school, where he stayed for one year before moving to Eastern Parade in late 1991. Mr and Mrs Stephens finally settled and The Grand Duke was able to maintain an education at Langbridge Primary School until leaving in 1996.

His Royal Highness followed in his Father, and Grandfather's footsteps and chose a Naval maintained secondary school. While at school the young Grand Duke joined many societies, sports teams; and graduated with eleven qualifications under his belt. Sixth form college then followed, and after gaining four A-levels, His Royal Highness turned his attentions to a degree, and currently resides at University College, Winchester, and is completing a Bachelor of Education degree.

Activities & Interests
The Grand Duke's three great interests are young people, the arts and sport, which are reflected in both his public role and private life. Organisations that provide opportunities for young people are especially important to His Royal Highness; and his involvement at his local church and schools is a testimony to this. Privately His Royal Highness enjoys a variety of sports, including horse-riding, sailing, badmington and the unusual dance by the name of Le Roc .
